Besiktas is the first sports club established in Turkey. In the first years, the colors are red-white. In the years when the Ottoman Empire lost the Balkan war, it was announced that the color of the club would be black-and-white until the land was taken back, and when the lands were taken back, it would be returned to the old color, but the colors of Beşiktaş have survived to the present day because the lands could not be taken back.
