For vehicles used in passenger or freight transportation, winter tire was obliged to wear. For those who do not comply with the rule, a fine of 500 pounds will be fined. This rule concerns about 5 million of the 16 million cars in traffic in Turkey. .

According to the regulation, the vehicles used in passengers and goods transportation from this winter season should use winter tires between 1 December - 1 April. In case of weather conditions, the time in the date range can be increased by the Ministry for 1 month.

500 lira penalty has arrived

The inspections of the winter tire in vehicles will be held by the General Directorate of Security, Gendarmerie General Command, the Ministry of Customs and Trade teams and the relevant officials of the municipalities at the border gates.

Regulation entered into force on 12 November 2012.

The aim of this regulation is not to leave people in a difficult situation, but rather reduce the number of accidents in traffic and reduce the problems encountered while snowing in winter.
