What is Cabotage

Cabotage is a French word of French origin, its meaning is the privilege that a state recognizes to trade by sea in its ports.

In general, states prohibit the trade of different people from their own citizens in their land waters. This ban is called a ban on cabotage. Every July 1 in Turkey, maritime and cabotage festival is celebrated.
